Join us for this three week course and learn the simple set of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma.

Course Overview

During the course, as well as learning the exercises we will go deeper into the process of grounding, self-regulation and integration of the Trauma Release Exercise process (TRE®) and observe how our nervous system responds and can begin to reset into a more balanced and calmer state, all of which will allow you to build the foundations of self-practice.

Whether you are new to TRE® or have attended group or individual sessions previously, working in a group over a three week period brings support, a building of community and a playful element to the sessions.

Cost: £90, £69 concession. (To book the concession rate - see our concession policy here . If eligible,  enter CONC-69 in the coupon code box at checkout.)

More about TRE®

The accumulation of stress and trauma and lack of tension release can create a dysregulated nervous system. TRE® safely activates a natural therapeutic reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating, that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When the natural shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance and calm. TRE® is a body based (somatic) process created by Dr. David Berceli and is designed to be a self-help tool that once learned, can be used as needed, thereby continuously supporting and promoting personal health and wellbeing.

Reported benefits of TRE® include: less worry and anxiety, more energy and endurance, reduced muscular pain, greater emotional resiliency and more.

PLEASE NOTE This course is not suitable if you are currently pregnant. If you have had a recent operation, surgery or experienced a serious injury, it is best to allow yourself a minimum of 3 or more months to recover before practicing TRE®.

TRE® group courses might not be suitable for people with severe trauma, PTSD, CPTSD and serious health conditions or those who find it challenging to self-regulate (unable to calm down when emotionally distressed). If you have any of the above, one-to-one sessions may be more appropriate but please be in touch with Tom if you would like to discuss further via tomhoyland@protonmail.com

Weekly Session Content

Each week, together as a group, we will go through the 7 exercises and explore the body through these movements and the therapeutic tremors.

Meeting what comes up, we can begin to recognising patterns, exploring them more deeply or notice new patterns that emerge. We can do this by trying new positions in the movements or by staying longer in the positions we take up. All of this can be done in a playful explorative way.

There will be an opportunity each week for questions and sharing of experiences and you are encourage to practice between classes exploring the process on your own, discovering any new sensations that emerge.

Group sessions of TRE are a great way to learn collectively and draw from each others experiences, "Shaking" in community can feel supportive and bring about change in a different way to when working alone.
