Mindfulness COurses
Mindfulness Based Approaches
Mindfulness Based Approaches take a secular approach to meditation techniques that has been validated in the treatment of a number of conditions by scientific research, as endorsed by NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).
All our Mindfulness courses help to develop skills to meet the ups and downs of everyday life as well as to manage:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Self compassion and empathy
- Chronic illness and pain
- Addictive behaviours
- Disrupted sleep patterns
Mindfulness can help to develop greater resilience. Supported by ongoing practice most people gain lasting benefits: more energy and enthusiasm; greater capacity for relaxation; more self-confidence; and an increased ability to handle difficult situations.
Mindfulness practice will not remove a source of distress or discomfort, but it can open up choice through a shift in responses to difficult experiences.
Our Mindfulness Courses
Our Mindfulness courses generally consist of 7 or 8 weekly classes.
All our courses are led by professionally trained Mindfulness teachers and advance booking is required.
*If you have attended more than two Mindfulness courses with Pippa O'Connor, you are eligible to access the concession code.
To benefit fully we encourage you to commit to coming to all the classes (including orientation session and practice day where applicable) as well as to the daily home practice. This requires a strong commitment on your part to work through a gentle but rigorous daily discipline of meditation and other awareness exercises. The daily home practice is as important a part of the course as the weekly classes. You will be asked to commit as best you possibly can to 45-60 minutes daily, six days a week, between each class. Research evidence shows that this is the best way to get the greatest effect for you.
Mindful Compassion Behaviour Training (MCRT)
Mindful Compassionate Relationship Training (MCRT) is a therapeutic approach that helps people who struggle with anxiety, depression, shame, self-criticism, and harsh inner judgment.
It draws on evolutionary psychology, neuroscience, and compassionate wisdom and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
MCRT teaches skills to activate the brain’s “soothing system” and cultivate compassion ( being with ones suffering) for oneself first then we can be with and others. MCRT gives us tools to manage our lives and all relationships, intimate or not. By strengthening this compassionate mindset, people can face difficulties with greater resilience, balance, and kindness.
Mindful Compassion training helps you respond with kindness and less judgment.
Compassion training works with the emotions, behaviours and not just your cognitions.
Compassion training is for a deeper physical, emotional and cognitive transformation and change. In the mindful compassion training, were learning to question the unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling, behaviour and connect to our healthy emotions, feelings and thoughts.
Compassion training lessens perfection driven, high demands and unrelenting standards which activate a critical and judging mind set. Through mindful and kindly awareness, we can show compassion towards yourself, others and life itself.
Compassionate mind training, helps us find opportunities to understand our situation more clearly and act more wisely with a choice to respond and lessen reactivity.

By developing mindfulness and self-compassion, we learn to soften the critical, judging mindset, build emotional resilience, and cultivate healthier, more loving relationships with ourselves and others.Join us for this 7-week journey of compassion, connection, and emotional growth.
What is Mindful Compassion?
Mindfulness is paying attention to our experience in the present moment without judgement. Combined with compassion, it becomes a potent pathway for healing, emotional growth, resilience, and authentic connection.Through guided practices, reflection, and discussion, we will inquire into how to:
• Respond rather than react.
• Articulate difficult feelings and emotions with greater clarity.
• Lessen high self-demands and unrelenting standards.
• Reduce anxiety, perfectionism, overwhelm, and self-criticism.
• Understand how the brain and nervous system can hijack thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
• Develop self-compassion and emotional resilience.
• Calm the anxious, critical, and judging mind.
• Improve relationships with yourself and others.
• Develop healthy "good enough" boundaries.
• Resource yourself and build resilience during challenging times.
• Create space for healing, growth, and transformation.
• Cultivate more skilful, loving, and authentic relationships.
